fishburne: i mean, there are all kinds of movies that are out there about people who want to achieve something, but there’s really not a lot of movies that depict the process of how they get to the goal. and so, i think this movie, even though it’s about the spelling bee, is a chance to look at how people get to a goal. it’s a chance to look at the process of becoming successful and to, in a way, be aspirational.
fishburne: you know what? you can be a champion. you know, it’s not about how smart you are, it’s not about, you know, if you’re black or white, it’s not about anything like that. it’s about, you know, how far you want to go and how much you want to achieve. so, i think it’s just a great story and a great movie.
so its a movie about the boys, the ones who didn’t get out, who left the scene, and its that simple. and that boy is the one who gets caught. that boy is the one who gets caught. and so it’s the lives of these four guys that are interwoven in and out of each other that makes this movie so powerful.
ms. bassett: i am so excited about this movie because when i was a kid my father was in the air force, and he was one of the pilots that flew the planes out of boston to washington, dc. and after all the other flights, his last one came to land on united 93 and on this day, and i think this movie about the boys and their stories is a way for me to honor those people and their story. and it’s a story of courage, and it’s about the boys who stayed, who didn’t leave, and this one was the one who was captured.
you know, that’s the thing about my father. he was the bravest man i’ve ever known. he did everything that he thought was for the good of the country and the good of the world. i think that that’s what draws me to this movie. this is the story of these four boys that stayed, that stayed and died. that died. it’s a story about four boys that died.
The film takes an elegant, sometimes elegant, sometimes not, approach to recording and retelling the story as it was told and so authentically as possible. Like many of Greengrass movies, The Bourne Legacy is an intelligent, efficient thriller, one that gets right to the heart of the matter. Its exceptional acting, editing and screenplay. The Bourne Legacy, like I said, is a great movie. It is also a clever thriller, and it never lets the viewer off the hook. The identity of the villain is obvious (he is not neccessarily the bad guy), but he is so well-played, such a believable character, that we go to the end of the movie believing him to be a good man. We cheer for him. We feel sorry for him and we hope he does not go to prison. That is the best kind of thriller.
But I was proud of the movie, because there were no budget issues: it just was about this one girl that you never meet for most of the movie. The special effects are convincing, the make-up is convincing. Basically, every prop is convincing. If you could live in the Bourne Universe for the next six movies, I would like it.
The movie is a great combination of action, drama and special effects. It also reminds me of the movies in the years that I grew up in the 1980s. It is just what I expected and wanted. This is a movie that I can say, I really like and I would watch again. I would give it to someone who likes action and drama and special effects.
